West College Scotland are delighted to be shortlisted in two categories at this week’s Scottish Apprenticeship Awards.

Scottish Apprentice Week 2024 will celebrate the diversity that that makes work-based learning good for individuals, employers and the economy. Developed as an initiative by Skills Development Scotland, the week will take place 4-8 March, underpinned by the theme of ‘Skills Generation’. This recognises that Scottish Apprenticeships are creating the new generation of Scotland’s skilled workforce.

West College Scotland proudly hosted its inaugural cross-campus International Mother Language Day events, marking a significant milestone in promoting linguistic and cultural diversity within the college community. The events, held across three campuses, aimed to raise awareness, and celebrate multilingualism, engaging over 200 ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) students.

More than £1.2 million will be invested in creating six new innovation hubs at colleges across Glasgow and the west of Scotland to help encourage innovation in local businesses.

West College Scotland has been selected as a finalist in the category of ‘Innovation of the Year’, at the Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards 2024.
