West College Scotland is excited to be named as a Supporter of the STEM Nation Award  programme. The STEM Nation Award programme celebrates, promotes and builds effective practice in STEM education within and across sectors.

Engineering Systems Foundation Apprentice, Harley Higgins has made the final three in the Foundation Apprentice of the Year category at this years Scottish Apprenticeship Awards.

A pioneering Foundation Apprentice cohort has kicked off at our Paisley campus, for the first time incorporating not only pupils from across 3 local authorities in one group but with an equal gender split between male and female pupils.

The College was delighted to host a pioneering event this month in partnership with SmartSTEMs.

In partnership with Developing the Young Workforce, we will be hosting a STEM Apprenticeship Event at our Greenock campus where you can find out about our pre, foundation and modern apprenticeship programmes in Engineering, Construction, Science and Motor Vehicle.

A group of Paisley Painting and Decorating students have been putting their skills to good use in the local community recently at Renfrewshire’s ACCORD Hospice. ACCORD provides palliative and end of life care to people living with or affected by a life limiting illness in Renfrewshire and parts of East Renfrewshire.

Helping smaller manufacturers access fully funded training.

A group of school students have been taking their first steps in the world of business by completing their HNC Business as part of our Senior Phase Schools Programme. Attending 4 afternoons a week, the class is entirely made up of S6 pupil coming from two local authorities West Dunbartonshire which has Clydebank High pupils and Hermitage Academy pupils from Argyll and Bute.

NC Graphic Design and Animation Students from West College Scotland Paisley campus have been invited to submit a mural design for an exciting competition, by forward thinking Paisley company, Workwear Made.

Hospitality students from the Colleges Clydebank and Paisley campuses visited Aarhus city in Denmark, as part of the Erasmus programme.
